The red hot Marquette Royales are hosting the St. Louis Frontenacs in a three-game weekend set, Oct. 11-14. The Royales had last weekend off after they swept the Central Wisconsin Saints 3-1, 7-2 and 5-3 on Sept. 27-29. While the Royales are trying to extend their eight-game winning streak on Friday, St. Louis (0-7) will be trying to do the exact opposite and end their winless start to the season.

These two teams are starting the season both headed in opposite directions. The Royals offense has been off to a hot start with a division leading 57 goals in ten games. The league’s leading goal producer Dallas McLaughan leads the way with 14 goals as well as contributing with eight assists. Forward Robby Gervino has also helped the offense early with ten goals and forward Lane King leads the league in points supported by his 22 assists early in this season. St. Louis has not been as efficient on offense, as they have only ten goals in their first seven games. Cole Rosen and Logan Brown lead St. Louis with two goals a piece.
Goaltending and defense have been a major weakness for St. Louis to start this season, in their first seven games they have already given up 54 goals. Frontenac netminder Loren Sawyer has given up 26 goals in just four starts. MQT has all three of their goalies playing very well early on. Together, the three Royales goaltenders, Nate Eminger, Bryce Leaf and Walker Enstad have given up a combined 26 goals with a .923 save percentage. Eminger (.957) leads the league in save percentage, while Leaf (.921) is fourth. Enstad also suited up with the US National Development Team last Saturday when they faced the Northern Michigan University Wildcats.
The Royales (8-2) are going into Friday night currently in second place in the Great Lakes Division, just three points behind division leading Illiana Blackbirds (9-1). The Royales are also tied for second place overall in the Minnesota Junior Hockey League with the Wisconsin Dells Ducks, who leads the Minnesota Division.
The weekends first two games on Friday and Saturday will both start at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday's conclusion game will begin at noon. All games will be held at Lakeview Arena.
