Flanigan's Bar has ended their regular cover charge, effective last Friday, January 10.
"It was time for a change," said Flanigan's Bar manager Brad Wood. "We think its better to have people coming inside and enjoying themselves than worry about cover."
Flanigan's, located at 429 W. Washington St., was the last bar in MQT to have a regular cover since the Upfront & Co closed down. Other locations like the Verabar and Blue Lounge, both under the same owner and location, have a cover depending for special occasions like holidays and entertainment.
The one-dollar cover charge was collected on Fridays and Saturdays at Flanigan's for more than seven years and was implemented to offset labor prices for security on busy nights.
According to Wood, the change in cover will not effect the regular entertainment schedule of live music on Thursdays and Fridays, trivia Sundays and karaoke five nights a week.
