The latest edition of the “Goat Rodeo” Senior Bar Crawl has been scheduled for Thursday, December 12 Featuring nine different MQT locations, crawl participants will receive a t-shirt, a Dr. McGillicuddy’s shot at each bar and transportation through longer parts of the trip.
The event is one of the biannual bar crawls sponsored by Double Trouble DJ’s, Checker Cab and Dr. McGillicuddy’s. The crawls traditionally line up with the Thursday of Northern Michigan University’s finals week for the fall and winter semesters as a way for outgoing graduates to have one last hurrah in MQT. However, all members of the community over 21 are able to buy a ticket and join in on the fun.

"Its a fun time in a safe, controlled and responsible environment," said Double Trouble co-owner Bill Digneit. "There's a collective reason to celebrate, so its a lot of fun for everyone involved."
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. at the upstairs of the Ore Dock Brewing Company. Each participant will be given a wristband for the trip that starts at the Ore Dock before going to Breaker’s Roadhouse, the Blue Lounge and the Doghouse. The crawl then hits the road for My Place, up to Wooden Nickel and to the Third Base, courtesy of buses from Checker Cab. The buses’ final stop is Flanigan’s Bar, where crawl participants will either stay to sing karaoke or walk down Washington Street to the Wild Rover for the final shot of the night.
Past bar crawls have travelled to Harvey, Negaunee and Ishpeming, but this edition will be based solely in MQT and the township. More information can be found on the bar crawl's Facebook event page. Tickets are $25 and are available at The Wild Rover, Doghouse Pub and the Double Trouble office in the “I Do” Wedding Center in Harvey.
